The benefits clearly overide the cost. Because we are talking here about saving lives. It is a refuge where climbers can stay. They can protect themselves from storms, from cold weather, pass the night. It can further provide unsuspected applications. It further aids in the determination of time of adaptation to this altitude. It might be important to point out that we are not talking about building an external structure on the summit of Mt. Everest. The practical and cost effective approach is to blow a hole into one side of the mountain very close to the summit. This would require the use of dynamite and hole digging as if opening a mine. We estimate the size should be around 2 meters wide, 2 meters high and 4 meters deep. It should have a curtain or a door. Further initiatives will arise.

I wonder what the cost-benefit relationship would be on such a structure.
